In early August 1958 (from Hallett observations) preliminary estimate (3 x (10 exponent 8)) atoms/(cm exponent 2). South of New Zealand ~ (3 x (10 exponent 7)) atoms/(cm exponent 2) by early September. {Correspond to total quantity of Li in the atmosphere of 20 and 2 kilograms, respectively} Height of Li layer apparently decreased by ~ 0.4 km/day during the period August 13 to September 5. (Measurements made relative to Na)
