4/9/60 Paul Kellogg of University of Minnesota on his visit on 4/7 relayed John Coleman at Space Technology Laboratories that the STL magnetometer on Pioneer V had been reading ~1-2 gamma (10 exponent -5) gauss) magnetic field perpendicular to earth-sun line most of the time. On 31 March the reading went up rather precipitously to ~50-100 gamma (~ (10 exponent -3) gauss)
