1/30/61 Discussed new computer prospects today with Lindquist, [Isabel?], Ray, McIlwain, (and Hayden of I.B.M.). President Hancher called to ask if they got money enough for the Physics Annex and in addition got enough federal money to build a considerably larger building, would we in Physics be willing to split the department between the old (present) and new building. I said Yes - not convenient but a definite help. (This plan contemplates leaving Math where it it).
