- F Collector --- Page Twenty-Nine [[line]] tributes a good story, "The Eyes of Paul Cordney." Rothman illustrated this. Conover contributes his "Looking Around" -- which is always interesting. Jack Cadrell makes his initial appearance in FD with "Hectograph Artists." He also illustrated his article. Other articles in the issue are by: Dale Hart, Percy E. Wilkinson, Azygous and Robert A. Madle. Hahn and Helen Cloukey contribute very.............The cover for the fifth issue is by JVB. This cover is the best one yet for FD. A pictorial feature is started with this issue by Rothman. The first is "Mercury" and gives that artists impression of the landscape of that planet. A very well-drawn feature. Other art work in the issue is done by John Giunts. Helen Cloukey contributes a fairly good story, "Good Company," and a bit of verse. Also present with verse this issue is Jack Chapman Mieke. Wilson, Speer, Wilkinson and Mark Reinsberg are also present in the issue. Then, the regular departments are present -- editorial, readers' corner, and the questions and answers dept. conducted by the editor. The hectographing in both issues is very good. Both the fourth and the fifth FD's are improvements on the preceding issues. These last two being very good. SCIENTI-SNAPS ---The summer, 1938 issue of this magazine has made its appearance. This is the third issue to fate (excepting a special convention issue). A very good cover by JVB, and good interior illustrations by Marconette (its editor) are present. This is the biggest issue to date, having twenty small-sized pages. However, the magazine has plenty of room to improve. Although S-S is the very paragon of neatness, it isn't on neatness alone that a magazine must depend. More pages, and a larger variety of material is what this magazine needs. Gaining those, and maintaining its neatness, S-S would become a top-nothher in the fan magazines field. Taurasi, Hunter and Wilson contribute to the issue. Taurasi's yarn is surprisingly good.
