Page Thirty-Eight -- Science Fiction Collector ETC. (continued) Sam Moskowitz's "Deep Purple" is certainly one long article, isn't it? I had no idea he would go to such a length when I told him I would not restrict the wordage of the article. If It Isn't one of the longest artlcles to have appeared In any fan magazine, it certainly is the longest to have appeared in the Collector. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's also the best he's written so far for the Collector. What do you readers think of it? We'd appreciate postals commenting on this article and the rest of the Issue. Now for a little talk on the format of the Collector. As you have noticed, this issue s not published on the Hi-Speed Ditto paper. That brand proved ruinous to our surfaces. Instead, we are using a different type - Longrun B Ditto paper. This is a lighter stock of paper and does not tear up the gelatine. On the whole, it gives better results than the paper used for the last issue It retains a clear and even impression not too dark and blotchy. Also, it is possible to make a great many extra copies. We have made over eighty copies of this issue; and when we say that the last copies are as good as any of the others; we mean it. Although more expensive than the ordinary brand of paper (costing just about twice as much), we feel that it is well worth the extra money for the results obtained. We wish to extend our congratulations to Orlon F. Wiggins on the occasion of the third anniversary issue of his magazine, the Science Fiction Fan. New Fandom is to be congratulated for its fine work in putting over the World Science
