Saving...
-3- suffered, and are not afraid to suffer, in order to survive, we are ready to give up everything, even our lives, in our fight for social justice. We shall do it without violence because that is our destiny." - Delano Proclamation MILITANT "Let all who will- Eat quietly the bread of shame I cannot, Without complaining loud and long, Tasting its bitterness in my throat, And feeling to my very soul It's wrong. For honest work You proffer me poor pay For honest dreams Your spit is in my face, And so my fist is clenched Today To strike your face." - Langston Hughes "I've heard a lot about whites being afraid to go to school in black communities. In view of crimes committed by whites (organized crime, war and racism)... we're the ones that ought to be afraid to go into white communities. Sometimes we are." - Reverend Andrew Brown, head of the SCLC, Indianapolis, Indiana NOTICE! ! ! An order issued by Transportation Secretary, John A. Volpe in Washington D.C., says no construction will be authorized for transportation projects until the government verifies replacement housing is available and has been offered to the residents about to be displaced. 300 years plus and lots of laws later... and with all of the warnings from the study. Commissions, America still isn't the land of the "free". Equality of opportunity is still only a dream. Dismiss it... if you can... but there are many of us who can't and won't... for we fully realize that this is America's time to become the nation it professes to be... or to fall, as hypocrites, always do ! Whenever grown men and women get satisfaction from striking out at children, instead of confronting those children's parents (such as turning over school buses), there i something very wrong with those adults. This just happened to be something that was publicized, but it happens right here, where adults in positions of authority punish young people because of the color of their skin. There is something terribly wrong in a country that can find billions of dollars to use in sending men to the moon and fighting unpopular wars, but had to constantly "cut" the funds which would be used to help alleviate the poverty of its citizens. Whenever the Vice President travels around the world, committing our already "strained" resources to defending the freedom of other nations, and travels throughout the country creating more animosity than that which is already in existence then we are in real trouble. All of us have a stake in the outcome! ! ! The inaction of the citizens of this country, whether they be first or second class, will only hasten the demise of the American dream...,and so, we'll take our place with the rest of the great civilizations and become a historical fact... a nation that couldn't properly face its internal problems! ! !
