720-7th Street May 10, 1971 Mr. Robert Anthony Williams - 103263 Box 316 Fort Madison, Iowa 53627 Dear Mr. Williams: Enclosed, please find your Book list. The matter will be discussed at the next Branch meeting, as it was at the last meeting of the Executive Committee. Donations to individuals, are not encourages, for it sets an undesirable precedent which could lead to situations which are not good for the organization. Every individual thinks that his "reasons for need" are credible, and would not understand the basis for denial, if another;s request had been granted. However, after the meeting, we will let you know what suggestions were made. The Iowa Civil Rights Commission, although shorthanded still, is making a concerted effort to take care of their work at the Prison. So, you should be hearing from them, also. I talked to Mrs. Lewis, and she has been very busy, also, as well as having had illness with someone who is close to here. She did say, however, that she would see you, as soon as she is able to do so. Sincerely, (Miss) Virginia Harper Branch Administrative Secretary
