The Planeteer gave the motors the gun and the ship slid away from the liner. To their right they could see the pirate ship coming back for another blast at the liner. The Planeteer shot his ship directly in front of the pirate ship and The Asteroid gave it blast after blast of the heat ray. The pirates returned the fire atfirst, but soon gave up as their guns began to melt and explode. The pirate ship banked and tried to run away. A steady blast of the heat ray melted their rear rockets and The Planeteer slowly caught up with them. He tied his ship alongside and in a space suit he went across to the pirate ship. He easily forced a spacelock open and entered the ship. Inside, all was quiet, the last blast had rosted all the occupants of the ship. Razig, himself, ;ayed dead over the controls. In a strong safe, The Planeteer, found the gold, noe almsot melted by the heat. With the help of The Asteroid, he scooped it all up and placed it in the safe of his own ship. Then he searched the whole ship and took all there was of value. Before leaving, The Asteroid, placed a time bomb in the ship. Back in their own ship, The Planeteer gave his ship the gun and it broke away from the pirate craft and headed out towards the half-looted liner. They had barely gotten away when a huge blast ripped up in the spot where the pirate ship had been.
