Red Pumice sand whirled and sank beneath his weight, impeding his progress. But the figure pushed on determindly. The figure wore a space-suit and helmet which weighed him down enormously. But, it was that same suit and helmet which protected him from death. The fine pumice sand eddied around him to find lodge in between the cracks of suit and helmet. Also where his thick solid shoes connected with his pants. That little figure fighting against the elements of nature on the red, waste sands of Mars cursed and muttered to itself. "Doggone this rotten dessert! Yah! a fine place to crash in. Me the best rocket pilot in the Universe crashes. Boy! What a laugh." And he kept thinking
