been buying or accepting any particular special rings, either diamond or plain gold or platinum? Your letter, that came just before I left Germany, in which you showed a marked lack of enthusiasm in regards to medical, agricultural, and military pursuits as hypothetically pursued by me, contains my very latest news from Iowa City. I know you are up to your ears in work right now but after Commencement, when you get the Summer School started or in between times, I surely would appreciate a bit of information. I planned to be back for commencement but found it impossible to get leave until after July 1st with prospects not good for a leave until September. It is rather a keen disappointment to me. Earl is in Massachusetts and had planned to meet me in N. Y. on my arrival but I didn't know of his exact whereabouts and he sent a couple of telegrams to Noboken and some place else without locating me. Some sort of a big deal he is working on has kept him from coming down here either of the two week-ends since we located each other. We are arranging a "conference", however for some date in the near future. In the meantime I'm sitting tight, and in case nothing on the outside turns up I'd like to try for a job under Colonel Mumma at Iowa. What do you think of that? Please give my best greeting to your own personal family, and such of the laboratory family as chance to be there and who haven't forgotten me. Sincerely yours Bob Browning
