Saving...
hurry to get back to camp in time for drill - nine hour night drive in the rain! I wish you knew Her. I'd like to have your scientific opinion in the matter. I'm slipping but haven't completely lost my equilibrium - yet. I can still jump to keep from falling but don't know whether I want to or not. Funny, what? I plan to collect my pennies from Uncle Sam the day after the Yale game and then come down and bail the old boat out of the garage and head her N.W. by W. Then I'll shove the accelerator clear in to the hilt and put my suitcase on it. Me for home. Gee that word sounds noble to me. Once I start the traffic cops better get out their stop watches and oil 'em up. What I mean is I'll be on my way. I'll be leaving here and getting somewhere else NOW! Right now! If you hear a roaring in your ears you can tell I'm coming down the western slope of the Appalachians with the throttle wide open. O, 'course I'll be careful but what I mean is I'm gonna go Home1 Three years since I saw you last. Hope you won't expect me to be grown up or anything. Sincerely Bob Browning Yet a few days Captain 18th Infantry U.S.A. O.S. I've been invited to Larsens for dinner when I reach Iowa City. Funny, what? Bob
