Willing to Work with Negro TEACHERS, TEACHERS Replying Number, Percent Total, 179, 100.0 Yes, 126, 70.4 No, 9, 5.0 Uncertain,28, 15.6 Other, 12, 6.8 No Response, 4, 2.2 Seventy percent of teachers answered the question affirmatively, (table 5). Only 5 percent replied that they would be unwilling; 16 percent were uncertain. In a distribution according to school level, responses at the high school level are most favorable. Ninety-one percent of the high school teachers answered that they would be willing to work, if a Negro teacher were employed on the staff. 1 Among Affirmative replies were: Yes, certainly, I think it would be a fine thing.
