Heard that Dave Stanley, from Muscatine, is going to run for U.S. senate this year, as Hughes isn't. Well, Hughes in Dem, Stanly Rep. so he wasn't deciding to run because Hughes is out, I must explain. Iowans, who frequently come to Rust, told me Stanley isn't running because Republicans feel their cause is queered by Nixon.But Dave isn't a Nixonian and the Reps need some able young men. I go on and on, knowing you don't know him though he has your name. But your talk of Becky reminded me -- they also have a Becky who got married this year to a man from Italy!
