simplified my diet: Dr. Green said that my blood pressure and heart are in good condition and that I could keep them that way by cutting down on salt , animal fats and eggs. I knew I could keep my vigor by walking (though the urge is to take a taxi or accept a ride) and by not gaining weight. To go back to groceries -- sugar is empty (foodless) calories, so I buy nothing for its sugar content: hence no bakery goods or sweets. Bread must be whole what, cereal must have solid food value.
