Subject: Action Studies Program
The impression has apparently been created that courses relating to the Action Studies Program are in some sense not subject to usual procedures and requirements for the granting of credit. We wish to make it clear that decisions about the offering of courses for credit and the granting of credit are made within the usual departmental and collegiate framework. The Steering Committee of the Action Studies Program has in fact tried to operate in accordance with this policy. 
We hope and expect that the Action Studies Program will produce flexibility of the curriculum, but we request that usual procedures regarding the granting of credit be followed and that there be no compromise with respect to academic standards.
