USE OF PRIVILEGED HOURS A. The student may enter or leave her own or another residence before or after closing hours. In residence halls, it will be necessary to show her Privileged Hours and her University Identification cards. {Handwritten note: Girls sign card when get keys} B. The student must sign-out if she is to be away from her residence for longer than twenty-four hours. {Handwritten note: Always leave an address or telephone number} C. [underline] The student on University social or academic probation[/underline] automatically loses her privileged hours during the period of her probation. {Handwritten comment: Freshmen or others requesting or with privileged hours} AWS JUDICIARY ORGANIZATION A. Judiciary Boards 1. Residence Judiciary Boards are composed of a student chariman and committee whose duties are to hear cases of infractions of women's regulations in each housing unit. Each board has a staff adviser. 2. Central Judiciary Board, made up of a student chairman and three student committee members who are selected through application by AWS Central Judiciary Board, handles both referrals and appeals and is also a policy-making body for women's regulations. The Board has a staff adviser. B. Actions taken by Central Judiciary Board 1. Action is varied according to the circumstances of the case. 2. Social Probation is the most serious action taken. a. Minimum probationary period is three months. b. It includes a letter to the parents and a letter in the student's file. c. Overnight absence without sign-out and/or falsification generally warrant Social Probation. C. Students who wish to appeal action taken by Central Judiciary Board us the following channels: 1. Central Judiciary Board Adviser 2. Dean of Students 3. University Committee on Discipline
