Greek Week-A Week With A Purpose The "Greek System" means many things to many people. Only the people who are Greeks can really know what it means to be a Greek, and it is our responsibility as members of the System to communicate as effectively as possible to the Community, the University, and beyond, our ideals and traditions. This, in part, is what Greek Week is all about. This week also provides an opportunity for Greeks to participate in various activities together as a unified "committee of the whole." Participation in these activities as a unified organization enables us to publicity reaffirm our belief in the traditions and goals we strive to achieve as Greeks, and also to have fun and realize a sense of accomplishment while doing it. Some of the aims of the Greek System are expressed in the activities planned for Greek Week 1965. The Leadership Banquet, the Faculty Speaker Program, and the Service Project are meant to indicate our awareness of the value of scholarship and initiative, and the role of the System in developing responsible civic leaders. The purpose of the Concert and the Dance is self-explanatory; we deservedly reward ourselves for our efforts. The foregoing may help to explain why no single theme for Greek Week was chosen. "The Greek Way" is too diverse and complex a subject to be adequately summarized in a few short words. The members of the Greek System assumed many responsibilities when they decided to pledge, but the rewards are equally as bountiful. We are all proud to be Greeks--let's really prove it this week.
