You may have the same by sending a postal. Will Trudy or someone please confirm or deny the rumor, printed in England, that Louis Kuslan is in Service? The Manning and Paul names, as above, were formerly connected with the fanzine Pluto. Remember? You will find a letter from Emerys Evans, now overseas, in Lez Letters dept. Ed Connor of Peoria expects to go about mid-July. (This is typed before that date.) FLIPS THAT PASS IN THE FOG DEPT: We found the following hot news flash in California Mercury (Vol.3, #4) which was attached to Nevula (Vol.2, No. 2) We feel sure your interest will be aroused by this forthcoming event, and you will eagerly await further news, as will we. To wit: "A Merritt has promised Editor Mary Gnaedinger, of FFM, though he has not notified her of any yet. 'I intend to see him soon about this. He had probably returned from Florida by now.' says Mrs Gnaedinger. Watch California Mercury for further details." We are watching, chums; but don't you feel any shame at peeping, etc.??? BOOK DEPT: Speaking of Merritt reminds us that the Clarkson Publishing Co. of 1253 S. Wabash, Chicago, offers his MOON POOL at $1.79 a copy. We suggest you show this paragraph to the next dealer that asks for four or five dollars for a copy. We glee. FUNNYBONE DEPT: "Geometry teaches us to bisex angels." That is a sample of the rib-ticklers to be found in the Science Dept. of Pocketbook of Boners, from the firm that is to issue Wollheim's sf pocket book. MORE TRAVEL DEPT: Neil DeJack, Bob Camden and Frank Robinson of Chicago, Ecco Connors of Peoria, and Walt Liebscher of Joliet came to Bloomington to spend the weekend, July 11-12. This DeJack is a queer duck. He spent the entire night out on the roof with a small pocket mirror and a box of matches. He said he was attempting to communicate with Mars via heliograph. Robinson has a candle-powered temper and a sarcastic sense of humor. He found, and read aloud, Mary Helen Washington's saga of unforgettable courage, "The Monster of the Cave" in Scientifun #2. He spent the entire two days stomping about the house shrieking out sentances, to wit: "Fan started telling his tongue off." and "Fan drawed his throat in."
