POLARIS 5 it Balzar Wood---there used to be a strange house. It had been deserted for many years. It had once been the property of an old man reputed to be a wizard and when the King took his land away from him for not paying his taxes, he placed a curse on the house. After two people met their death in the house, it became quite unpopular; and as far as anyone knows, has been shunned ever since. There is one curious aspect of the story---people who were ignorant of the cause were not harmed; only those who had heard of it were found dead in the house. "Both of the men who died there were found with unpleasant expressions on their faces; with no apparent cause of death, unless it could have been fright. . . . But the queer thing about it was the sameness of the two tragedies. In each case a spider was hanging from the ceiling directly above the contorted face of the deceased. That's about all. . . ."
