[[handwritten]] 6:00 [[handwritten]] TO: Budgeting and Auditing Committee FROM: Tess Catalano, the Ad-Hoc Committee to Take Back the Night RE: Original funding request during supplementary funding period The Ad-hoc Committee to Take Back the Night (permanent status) is making it's original funding request to aid in the planning for a Take Back the Night Rally. The rally serves as an informational/speak out for women's safety. The last rally of this kind was held three years ago, at that time the organizers chose not to acquire student status. It is the hope of the organization this year to provide enough structure to our group that the Take Back the Night rally could become an annual event. Obviously, women's safety effects both the university and Iowa City community, we see this funding request as an excellent way for the Student Senate to further indicate their commitment to women's safety. The request is as follows: INSURANCE: Traditionally the event has taken place at College Green Park. The city asks a liability bond for the use of their land. Insurance companies average estimate for this bond is between $300-400. [[handwritten]] Pentacrest [[handwritten]] $300.00 T-SHIRTS: This is for seed money to help cover an initial invest ment for 180 t-shirts totalling 519.00, this includes purchase, screen and labor.
