UISA CONSTITUTION Gamma Rho, Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma b. Shall have primary jurisdiction over affairs concerning the students of these fraternities and sororities, with the understanding that they may request assistance of any other branch of the UISA. c. Shall file a copy of their constitution wand by-laws and amny amendments thereto with the Secretaries of UICAC and UISS. 6. RECOGNIZED STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS a. Any group or organization which consists primarily of University students and whose purposes are consistent with by the UISA is eligible for recognition by the University. Recognized student organizations must comply with all regulations UISA CONSTITUTION, and are entitled to certain priveledges such as the use of University facilities and services. Recognition of a student organization by the University does not constitute an endorsement of its program or purposes, but is merely a charter to exist. b. The authority for recognition of student organizations shall be be vested in the UISS, a Collegiate Association, and the UICAC, as delineated in Article IV, 4 of the UISA CONSTITUTION. c. Recognized student organizations shall comply with the Human Rights Policy of the University, as outlined in Art. I D of the UISA CONSTITUTION, and shall not discriminate in their membership or programming on the basis of rce, age, sex, sexual preference, or national origin. d. Recognized student organizations shall conduct their business openly and by democratic procedures. e. Recognized student organizations shall comply to all regulations pertaining to recognition outlines in the UISA CONSTITUTION, Art. IV . 4. f. Failure of any recognized student organization to comply with regulations outlined in Articles IV 4, and V. 6 , will result in revocation of recognition, upon majority vote of recognizing body (UISS, UICAC, or Collegiate Association). g. Classification of recognized student organizations will be the following: Academic- those organizations whose activities and membership center around a particular academic or collegiate course of study or curriculum. Those organizations whose primary purpose is tied to classroom activity, or enhancing such classroom activity . Non- Academic - Those organizations whose activities and membership do not center around a particular academic or collegiate course of study or curriculum, but rather activities centering out of classroom interests.
