Stanley, S/T Contributions from the following are included under "dues" in the above statement: Ashley, Watson, Moenig, Russell, Liebacher, Rothman,, Connor, Tucker, Farsaci, Spencer, Rouze, Cunningham, Foo be with ye, gentlefen. --nfs Vice President's Second Message: Charles McNutt, No. 8 on the Waiting List, has informed the Sec'y Treas that FAPA member Tom Ludowitz is willing to resign in favor of McNutt, and asks if this would permit him to join at once. VP Decision: An FAPA membership may not be bought, sold or exchanged under such terms as outlined above, and McNutt's admission can legally take place only when the applications of those ahead of him have been dealt with. L.R. Chauvenet Feb, 28, 1944 Chief Critic's Message: Inadvertently omitted from the last report was the post-mailed Fall 43 Agenbite of Inwit, whose existence is hereby recorded. Milty's Mag: No comment. F.A. Lean 3: No comment. People Stories: "Genesis" is an interesting hypothetical combination of the two old there-are-limits-beyond-which-we-aren't-Meant-to-go legends. Original publication place of the Dick Wilson article should have been noted. Toward Yesterday: The dark paper is a horrible mistake Good variety in the contents, but taken individually, almost all items are second rate. Fen: The shading-wheel work in the masthead is marvelous, and the doodle is cute. The rest, again, is second rate. Midge: No comment. Caustic Square Bullshooter: the best imitation of CC publications in the Mailing, but still a little too neat. FantaSnide: Were't not for a note in Toward Yesterday, I'd have had no way of knowing whether this was Bronson's or Ackerman's work. Indubitable clues, at least, should be furnished somewhere or every publication as to its authorship. Compliments: The legend is clever, but the foto, if it came to the attention of postal authorities, would get everybody connected with its mailing in trouble. Guteto: No comments. A Decimal Classification for Fantastic Fiction: NO comment, not here anyway -- but let me call attention to the bad connotations of the word "Fantastic". There is no reason why "Fantasy" cannot be used. Since The Peace Witness and the page from Coventry do not represent to a substantial extent the work of a member of the Association, I
