Phanny, Fall and Winter issues: Striking cover on the Fall issues, especially with the explanation inside. The comments and discussions care well thought out, and the format is such as to present them clearly, without bothering about frills.

Inspiration: A weakness of fanzine type individ beta is the difficulty of finding any particular thing in re-reading, without going thru it sentence by sentence., Dividing discussion up into subjects, as in yhos and Phanny, looks like a good thing.
CAPA Mailing announcement, ghu, Cosmic Bulletin, Cosmic Circle Commentators and Fanews Analyzer 2,3,4,5,6,7, & 9: These should be carefully preserved. They'll be invaluable as illustrative material for a series of Foundation lectures on Don'ts for the Fan.

En Garde: Another snazzy cover series culminates. Liebscher's story isn't true double-talk becasue you can follow the incidents of the story thru the haze; but what is it? Tain't Lewiscarrolese portmanteau words. Ubble.

Sustaining Program: There has been a gradual improvement thru the years; I think it's carried a little further in this issue.
Full Length Articles: Tho I proofread all stencils once, I was rather shocked in re-reading the contents after mimeoing, at the many cases of bad grammar and poor diction. However, the substance of the accounts is good, according to all reports, in such things as choice of material--for example, it could have been boring if I'd gone into more detail about the tribulations of travel, as some similar recent accounts have done.
Cruise of teh FooFoo Special Jr: It takes a detective and an historian to find out what year this is supposed to have occurred in. (1942, says LRC, eminent detective and istorian (no error).)

Caliban 2, 3, 4: Good stuff scattered all thru these; Shaw's job is to develop what's promising and suppress what has no value. Some of the interlineations are real teasers, but I think an interlineator should always give his readers a chance to guess what he is talking about, if they're smart enough. (Scuse me, "enuf"--OE)
