18............................THE FANTASITE GEORGE ROBSON, Jr., Martinez, Calif. This issue was swell, even though the page seven on my copy was pretty week. You're idea of a SSSTSF is okay. You're right about there being a large number of fans in small towns. Here in Martinez there are four readers of stf that would start a chapter of a fan organization if there were enough numbers, ((Seems to me that's plenty. PB)) but if an organization were formed to take in a large territory they could become active members. If your new hekto will do it you could put in one large size illustration with each issue as a special feature and make it suitable for framing. (( Suitable for framing, he says! Gad......PB)) ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- PHIL SCHUMANN, Milwaukee, Wis. I enjoyed the second issue of Scienti-Comics very much. The planning was excellent. The story "Inevitable Necessity" showed that someone did some careful thinking, and the size of the mag appealed to me because I can put it in my desk without mangling it. The story "When Sthanee Wakes" was the only item that not hold my interest. I think you should have illustrated the other one. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- TOM WRIGHT, Martinez, Calif. I'm rather late in writing, but not too late I guess, this is of course about Scienti-Comics. The cover was good, but I liked the large size one much better. But I don't want the mag large size, are you going to keep it the way it is? I hope so. ((The small size was alright for S-C, Tom, but don't you think this format is more appropriate for [underlined] The Fantasite?)) The contents page was neat but mine was rather dim. The editorial was interesting, all of it scattered thru the mag. "When Sthanee Wakes" was very nicely executed. I haven't gotten around to reading "Inevitable Necessity" yet but the drawing was a pip. Would probably have been better if in color. The cartoon with idea by [underlined] Martain is good but the idea corny.
