Fern and Searles still held that the membership would have been notified of the delay in the mailing; this may be true, but non of us ever suspected at the time that the mailing was going to be delayed more than a few days. No one is asking anyone else to withdraw the charges; with such an abundance of confusion in all quarters it would have been surprising is suspicions of some sort did not develop. However, Mike could have had the facts in the case at any time simply be getting in touch with us and asking a few simple questions. This he did not do. In transmitting his own ideas to Ashley a great deal of confusion was added to that already existing, and things ended up in a very sorry state indeed. About Light. Ashley's decision that it could be included after many of the mailings were out. We didn't think it fair to include it in some mailings [and?] not others, so we didn't include it in any. In the past I have often jumped to conclusions a little bit hastily. Recently I've tried not to, but the practice seems to have been taken up by a huge tribe of other fans. I think everybody would be happier if each of us tried to be a little less "precipitant" in the future. That seems to be about all. At least, I certainly hope it is. Al Ashley, our new president, has asked all the members for their cooperation in straightening out the mess fapa is in. He has mine, What about yours?
