Is also an attempt to complete the up-to-now incomplete picture fandom has had regarding such important aspects of their stay in Chicago as the hotel situation and rates, the Chicon program and special events, what to see and do in Chicago, items of expense that will be incurred in connection with the Chicon etc. I hope that the information contained in this article will clear up any doubts in the minds of perspective Convention goers. Here in Chicago, everything is ready for the great fan pilgrimage that is to begin shortly. BASIC CHICON DATA: The Time: September 1st and 2nd. First Session: 10:00 A.M., Sunday (Sept. 1st). Raymond A. Palmer will speak on, “What Science Fiction Really Is”, following a thirty minute recess for refreshments. General introductions will be divided into three parts: the Convention Committee, fans and pros of Chicago, and fans and pros of the nation. The Supper Recess will start at 6 P.M. and last to 8 P.M. During this time, fans will retire to change into their costumes, while preparations are being made in the Convention Hall for the Science Fiction Masquerade Party.
