SCIENCE FICTION JR. GIANT PRIZE CONTEST!!! We have noticed that every fan mag has featured some sort of contest or other so we have come through with an especially swell one. All you have to do is 1. Send in a list of all the stf authors you know of. 2. Also enclose their address and state and city. 3. Send entries to GIANT PRIZE CONTEST, 515 Cherry St., Burlington. Wash. 4. Send entries in before September 1942 6, Enclose your own Name, address, state and city. 6. Neatness doesn't count. 7. Don't decorate your entries. 8. Have a subscription, have a three issues lined up for you, or send subscription with your entry. The Prizes 1. Copy of the rare novel "Vandels of the Void" by A. M. Walsh. 2. Copy of the rare novel "The Living Shadow" by Maxwell Grant. 3. Year's subscription to SCIENCE FICTION JR. 4. Half year's subscription to SCIENCE FICTION JR. 5. Volume 1 Number 1 of Future Fiction. SPECIAL AWARD SOMETHING EVERY FAN WANTS For the first fan bringing in at least twenty subscriptions, an original painting for the cover of a recent number of Amazing Stories in perfect condition and ready to be framed will be presented to the lucky fan. In case of a tie a rare novel "The Moon Maiden" by E. R, Burroughs will be given. C'mon fans did you ever see a bettor contest - Let's have results, huh??????? *Meet the Fan and Author Charles Nutt Comedy has been done so many times in autobiographies that it has become a mere common also most of them are long and drawn out so if you don't mind I will dish it to you straight........ Height: 64 1/2" - Weight:: 115 - Color of Hair: Very Light Blonde - Stature: Thin and Tall - Color of Eyes: A disgusting green. I like: To read science fiction, write stf, listen to good music, such as "Tiger Rack", and have lots of fun trying to learn how to dance although my feet are a bit indignant - Age: 14 (Aw right, 13 Yrs) - Lucky Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday - Lucky Numbers: 6 and 8 (According to that astronomical machine) I first became introduced to science fiction when a girl friend of mine brought over an issue of the May 1941 Amazing, It looked darn good. I read "Lost Race Comes Back" and was hooked. Ever since I have collected, read, taken part in activities, and tried to start a fan mag. No, I'm not so new. That issue Charlotte (The Gal) was along with a book with the "Lensmen", and other ingenious opi. To date I have three hundred mags. And through use of the correspondence oorner of Amazing Stories I have gained invaluable friends. Also I am a friend (through corresponding) of E. E. Smith, Tom Ludowitz, Damon Knight, Bill Hamling (Personal Pal), Malcolm Smith (Personal) Ray Palmer, Julian S. Krupa, Jack West (All Personal). And they are all swell guys.
