Charles (CAB) Beling This issue is probably later than any other mag ever was, except for SNIDE, SCIENTIAL, FANTASCIENCE DIGEST, etc. In fact, the fourth ish should be appearing right now. The only excuse that we can offer is school work, too much, much too much, homework to suit our fan activities. So, therefore, FAN-ATIC is extremely delayed. We are going to attempt to put out the July issue (#4) by August 1st, and the September (#5) one out by the first of September. If this can be done, the fifth issue will be back on schedule and the correct number of issues will appear this year; as the 6th issue will appear in November (somewhere near the first if possible, later if it's necessary) To put these issues out so soon we will need your co-operation, and need it badly. The different authors of the columns will have to have their material in within about ten (10) days after receiving this issue, for the July issue; and within 10 days of receiving that for the September one. Anybody who wants to contribute other materal should send it in by the same deadlines. And we need other material badly too, so send it along boys and girls, and send it soon. Even though the next issue won't be as large as this one is, and definitely won't have even edges, we would like the departments to be about the same size as this time. We'll cut down on the other stuff. Next; we've some very unpleasant news; not exactly new, we guess that most of you know already; at any rate, SUN SPOTS is no more. Yeah it's dead, like so many other good fanzines. Where we come in on this is here; Yehudi and I have pooled great and well-known financial empires and bought the Solar Press mimeograph. If possible we are going to convert it to using red ink, if not then you're reading this in black, not red. FAN-ATIC completely supports and advocates the city of Washington for the 1942 World Annual Science-Fiction Convention. "He is!" "He ain't!" "He is!" "He ain't!" Singleton is alive!
