FANFARE 23 [centered] LOOKING OVER THE FANMAGS DETOURS--#4 just came in, and the boy really has something. Hektoed in SEVEN different colors! I can't say just what's in it, as it's like no other fanmag. It has a real individuality and personality, and is just the thing for advanced dopes that are up to the stage of wishing to learn something. MERCURY--#6. See JJFortier, 1836-39th Ave., Oakland, Calif. The editors describe it with the sper-ak STFANEWSHEETRI-WEEKLY, which is as complete a description as I could give in five lines. If you would like to be a dope all your life, don't get it, because it has all the news of the extractive Pacificoastfans. LE ZOMBIE--#31. There's not much sense in reviewing this "ghouls ghazette", perpetrated monthly by Bob Tucker, Bx 260, Bloomington, Ill, as everybody who is anybody reads it. So if you're a nobody, here's your chance to step up to the "existence" class. Thank Foo, I'm all done. [line break] [centered] FANMAG POLL RESULTS [in two columns. first column] 1 Spaceways 155 2 Stardust 101 3 LeZombie 95 4 Snide 92 5 Comet 92 6 Voice of the Imagi-nation 71 7 Pluto 68 [second column] 8 Fantasy News 66 9 Sunspots 65 10 Sweetness and Light 48 11 Alchemist 45 12 Golden Atom 42 13 Mercury 41 (22 votes received--9-19-40--awjr.) [line break] FANTASY NEWS--I sure am a dope to forget this one. This is without a doubt the leading newstfanmag, in fact, the only one. This by no means indicates that it leads because of that, but probably is the only one in the field because other weeklies didn't have the resources it has. It's printed, and it's two pages contain as much material as four mimeod pages. 3 issues for 10c, 30 for $1, or 52 (1 year) for $1.50. The address is: William S. Sykora, 12 Bee St., Valley Stream, New York... [line break]
