him & Alexander Pallack Aulden took him to Elgin Wallace went to Elgin this afternoon got some of the canning husks to put (illegible) the silo Tues sept 15 A nice day we caned 12 qts tomatoes & 5 of apple butter I am tired Wallace & Aulden went to Elgin to a show called the 10 commandments wed sept 16 A pretty warm day I made 10 glasses of blue plumb jellie we made some plumb & yello tomato preserves gathered a pail of dry beans & one of ground cherries
