MY FIRST TWO THOUSAND MILES by ROBERT A. MADLE We arrived in Denver Thursday afternoon, July 3rd. There were five of us: Art Widner (who drove practically the entire distance); Julius Unger, known affectionately as "Moneybags"; Milton A. Rothman, one of the boys who keep the FAPA going; John W. Bell, Widner's sidekick; and, of course, Philly's super-active fan—none other than myself. This article will not dwell upon the amazing adventures that befell us during the long journey from the east coast; Art Widner has been detailed to tell the miraculous happenings during the trip. His article will appear in vol. 4: no. 1 of Spaceways. Well, as mentioned before, we arrived in Denver, and soon found ourselves at the back entrance of the Shirley-Savoy, the hotel in which scientific fiction's grand blowoff of 1941 was to be held.
