least, was sex-crazy. To hear a chap talk, in a proud manner, about all his conquests is nauseating to say the least. And that he revels in it, since his buddies agree and add a couple of remarks about their own "sexiness", seems to place that chap on a pedestal with the feeling that he is king of all his area. To warn the soldier of the dangers of VD, and then issue protectives to him, is like saying, "Soldier, you can have your cake (health), and eat it too (play around with prostitues or pickups)." I think that soldiers, parents, and people who have a desire for their friends and relative-children's welfare, should band together and tell the politicians and brass-hats in D.C., to do something about it. IT'S WORSE NOW THAN IT WAS IN WORLD WAR I, I assure you. I had the luck to be friendly with a soldier who was in both wars, who told me that in comparing conditions in regards to sex-problems, this latest war was many times worse in complications. Not believing in all the Bible (stories) does not necessarily mean a person is not a true Christian What does constitute that status is debatable. It is the state of mind that counts mainly, I believe. I rather think that Martin Carlson is confused on the issue. It seems too many persons are hearkening to the theme that Atheism is salvation; Christianity is destruction. Communism may preach that issue; but as for me, I rather believe there is a divine being that instituted the scope of things as they are. For I believe we are a mere flash of life in the vast scope of eternity. In the great Maker's domain, there may be dozens of universes like ours, with space, stars, humanity - and when we prove unworthy to entiretu we shall be no more; like a photographer's flash powder. I believe we should help our fellow men. Millions of people in European and the Pacific are starving. These people did not ask for war, it was thrust upon them. True, the Germans and Japs caused it to start, but are we to let these millions starve even so? I rather think we should t run our mind to aiding these. then look secondly to our own needs, which are not so necessitous. To see the stunted growth, the starving body mostly bones, is to realize the need. When I was there I gladly gave what I had in excess, to the needy children. Money has no value when a body is starved and wracked with malnutrition, and any money you may have will not purchase food because there is no food to buy. In faith (Christian belief) one of the chief characteristics -22-
