AWS Personnel Board The AWS Personnel Board has a function unlike most other AWS committees. The Board does not plan for a major campus event, like Spinster's Spree, or organize several consecutive activities, like the Red Cross Committee. Instead, the Personnel Board aids in selecting AWS general chairmen. The Board interviews applicants and then presents the proposed chairman's name to the AWS General Council for its approval. The Board also helps the selected chairmen in choosing their committees. Personnel Board members are selected by the AWS General Council. American Red Cross The American Red Cross College Unit provides a chance to participate in AWS work which takes only a few hours of your time. Five Sunday-night parties are given at the Veterans Hospital during the year on three floors of the hospital. If you participate as a volunteer hostess you're certain to have a fun time, as well as leaving with a tremendous feeling of personal satisfaction. In addition, you'll have plenty of help-the patients enjoy decorating and making other arrangements for the parties. Code for Coeds Code for Coeds is AWS's way of welcoming and introducing you to SUI. After reading this booklet, it is our aim to have you feel a part of our student body. It is hoped that many of your questions will be answered. Now, feeling more sure of yourself, study the preceding activities carefully and pick one that suits your interests. This will bring you even closer to the meaning of SUI, found in friendship and a common goal. A successful and enjoyable first year at SUI is awaiting you. Make the most of it. 31
