{Drawing of doll-like girl with stick, top left corner of page} Orientation... ...is something designed especially for YOU. By taking an active part and interest in this AWS-sponsored week, you'll be able to assimilate all the facts you've learned about SUI, many of your questions will be answered, and you'll get a more complete picture of college life. The week starts out on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Field House with all new undergraduates meeting together for their introductions to SUI. Here you will meet your Orientation group and leaders, and after a short meeting you will be entertained in the homes of staff or faculty members for informal discussions about campus life in general-refreshments will be served, too! The next two nights you will enjoy the President's Open House and the church group of your choice. Dresses, heels, and gloves are appropriate for your individual introduction to President and Mrs. Bowen and other campus dignitaries. You can start in making a place for yourself at SUI by attending the Activities Open House Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Union. Representatives of every campus organization will be there to explain their groups' purposes and activities, and many of them will be ready to sign you up as a member. You'll just have time to run back to the dorm and eat before the Orientation Recreation Night begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Field House. This has been set up for your enjoyment and participation in basketball, volleyball, and swimming. If your particular interests lend themselves more to spectator sports, you can watch fencing, wrestling, or swimming demonstrations. This week is your week. Through its activities you can build a firm foundation for your future experiences at S-YOU-I! 18
