CODE FOR COEDS — Code is this AWS orientation booklet sent to all women students entering SUI for the first time. The staff is composed of the editor, assistant editor, and art editor. If you have a flair for writing or sketching, be sure to apply for a position next October. CENTRAL JUDICIARY BOARD — Representatives from each of the women's housing units constitute this group. Their work involves the interpretation and administration of women's regulations. Closing hours are 10:30 p.m. on weeknights and 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, with occasional "late leaves" for special occasions. The "Code of Student Life" explains more fully the rules ocncerning hours as well as other university regulations. Student-Faculty Coffee Hours—Informal coffee hours, sponsored by AWS, are held once a month at the Library. They honor professors, instructors, and administrative officials of various departments. This year the committee's theme, Dennis the Menace, was a center of attraction. The students and faculty enjoy these informal gatherings outside the walls of the classroom. PROFILE PREVIEW — Profile Preview is an annual style show given each fall, with clothes modeled by new students, so select your favorite outfit and enter the preliminaries. [hand drawing of girl] From sixty to seventy girls are chosen to model in the finals. The highlight of the evening is the selection of Miss Perfect Profile and her attendants. A staff member from Mademoiselle will be on campus to interview coeds and advise them on grooming and fashion problems. You can obtain the necessary application blank for modeling in the preliminaries from your orientation leader. ORIENTATION — One of your first contacts with AWS will be the orientation program. This summer you will receive a letter from an orientation leader, giving you all the details of your first big week at SUI. You are encouraged to correspond with this girl who is one of the many orientation workers planning for and eagerly awaiting your arrival in Iowa City. At your first meeting in the fall, you will be assigned to a specific orientation group in which you will enjoy the many activities which have been planned to help acquaint you with the campus. You'll have such fun during this orientation period that you may be interested in working on the program next year yourself. 23
