During the week before the show a guest speaker, whose caareer is in fashion, will discuss style and grooming with all women on campus. ORIENTATION—You have probably already received a letter from an orientation worker to give you your first real contact with AWS. Write to her about any questions you might have as you make plans for arriving on campus, because she is eager to help you in any way that she can. You and your orientation group will join together in attending the events of New Student Week. Orientation is a big program at SUI. It has been planned to acquaint you with new people and with the campus. Spinster's Spree—Males wait for their special coeds to arrange the date when this all-University dance draws near each spring. The fellows, however, are busy campaigning with skits in the women's residences for the candidate each of their housing units sponsors for Mr. MEBOC (Most Eligible Bachelor on Campus). Mr. MEBOC is chosen by the feminine voices in an election, and he is grandly presented with his four attendants at the dance. STUDENT-FACULTY RELATIONS—Six informal coffee hours are held in the Union and University Library Lounge throughout the year. Administrative officials and professors and instructors from various departments gather with the students to become more closely acquainted over a cup of coffee. Attracting much attention last year was a model of Dennis the Menace, the committee's chosen theme. UNIVERSITY SING—One of the highlights during Mother's Day week end at SUI is the University Song Fest. Men's and women's housing units all compete for a traveling trophy that is awarded permanently to a unit if its chorus places first for three consecutive years. The Sunday finals comprise the concert, elimination rounds having been conducted the previous weekend. 25
