[hand drawing of girl] More soothing music is presented by the orchestra. Composed of both students and faculty, it joins the chorus to present special concerts at Christmas and Easter. One of the most famous of the Iowa groups is the Scottish Highlanders. This is the largest all-girl bagpipe band in the world, its members being either pipers, drummers or dancers. All the Highlanders can dance the highland fling. Dancing on a drum held high in the air is a colorful example of the rich Scottish culture the group brings to our football field. Try-outs will be held early this fall. The activity is time consuming and distance minded. The hours spent in practice are rewarded by praises such as the girl received from their appearances at the Rose Bowl and through Europe (every fourth summer) as well as the one "away" football game and the usual concerts and exhibitions. Big Sister Butch wants to be a cowboy and ride the range with Maverick. Butch misses his mommy and daddy who can't come to see him very often because they live so far away. Butch wears his hair in a close cropped crew cut and has a big smile and braces of both legs. [hand drawing of girl reading to child] 22
