Public Relations Keeping the rest of the University as well as the members of the YWCA informed of the many "Y" activities is the job of the public relations committee. If you have a flair for writing, you might turn your journalistic interests towards this. Whichever aspect of the YWCA you choose, you will find the programs meaningful. When you help others, you help yourself. WRA Those of you who are active in sports minded organizations will find many activities in Women's Recreation Association. Individual as well as team games are featured. Five officers making up the WRA Council meet regularly for area organizational planning. A large number constitute the WRA Board, which meets the first and third Thursday of each month to propose additional suggestions. Dance Groups Orchesis is the modern dance club. The members demonstrate their talents in a show or demonstration of dance forms during the year The women's physical educational department teaches new dance forms and can help you develop some of your own creation. Social Dance Club "plans" events for men and women who enjoy social dancing and teaches new steps and gives practice for brushing up others. The Daily Iowan will carry announcements of Orchesis meetings and the Social Dance Club's scheduled dance lessons. Sports Club Tennis anyone? Or how about stunts and tumbling, badminton, basketball? There are clubs to cover each of these interests. Would you like to learn to handle a rifle? Check into the Rifle Club. Meetings are held weekly to perfect these skills. Those interested may compete in intercollegiate matches. 31
