nations, this group works with SUI foreign students (representing about fifty different nations) to sponsor a series of dinners. Each meal is prepared by students from a different country or region and the menu is typical of that area. Committee members help with everything from peeling potatoes to clearing tables. They become well acquainted with their counterparts from other lands during the course of the year. The International Festival, displaying talent from every land in individual or group acts, is a yearly presentation of the AWS Foreign Student Committee and the SUI foreign students. If you want to meet people from other lands and broaden your cultural foundation, the Foreign Student Committee is a "must" for you. STUDENT-FACULTY RELATIONS The contacts promoted by the AWS Student-Faculty Relations Committee will convince you that your instructors are a far cry from the complex distributors of information they may seem at first. This committee is still in the formative stages, with unlimited possibilities for expansion. It has established coffee hours honoring the Administration in the fall and the performers following the spring Foreign Student Festival. You'll be able to contribute your ideas for the group's growth if you decide to work with this committee. SPINSTER'S SPREE You will be paying for everything from coffee to caviar during T.W.I.R.P. Week ( The Woman Is Required To Pay), the "change-about" time before the annual Spinster's Spree. For the dance itself, as well as for all dates during the preceding week, you will do the asking, planning, and paying. And if you're a member of the Spree committee, you'll be doing even more planning during the busy week before the dance - decorating, publicizing, and organizing entertainment. If you're one of the lucky ones picked for the committee, you're headed for fun and excitement, working on one of the SUI social events of the year. ORIENTATION Your first big introduction to SUI will come with the Orientation Program, the largest undertaking of AWS. With the cooperation of other student organizations and University staff members, the Orientation Committee arranges a week of stimulating activities for you and other new SUIowans to enjoy while becoming acquainted with your new surroundings.
