CAMPUS AND PERSONAL SERVICE Student-faculty relations and summer job opportunities will occupy you if you serve on the Campus and Personal Life Commission of the YWCA. Faculty members are invited by this group to speak at "Y" meetings and to attend social functions where they can come into contact with students on an informal basis. The group also maintains records of employers who need student help during the summer. COMMUNITY SERVICE Your Saturday mornings will be filled with fun if you choose the Community Service Commission of the YWCA as your activity. "Y" girls teach roller skating, trampoline, dancing, swimming, and crafts to Iowa City children each Saturday under this group's sponsorship, in conjunction with the Iowa City Recreation Commission. You'll have the chance to improve relations between students and towns-people on this commission, and probably enjoy doing it. SPECIAL PROJECTS YWCA fund-raising activities fall under the heading of Special Projects. If you participate in this committee, you'll be involved in preparations for the annual book sale, Silver Tea, Mother's Day corsage sale, and other money making drives. The Homecoming badge sale each fall, one of the YWCA's most widely known projects, will also fall in your domain as a member of this group. CHRISTIAN FAITH AND HERITAGE You can help interpret the Christian faith for members of the campus community if you help with the Christian Faith and Heritage Commission. Skeptics, a group meeting monthly under the leadership of faculty members, discusses moral and ethical problems affecting student life. It is sponsored by this commission. Religious groups on campus cooperate with the group in planning vesper services and other religious observances. 29
