Cases From Page 1A city planned to furnish defense lawyers with "an outline of what kind of factual presentation the city intends to make." Included in that outline would be information on evidence the city has against the 250 demonstrators and a list of the city's witnesses, which include University Security officers, Iowa Highway Patrolmen, Iowa City Police officers and city officials, accordiing to Hayes. The 250 were rounded up early the morning of May 8 as they sat on the steps of Old Capitol to protest American involvement in Cambodia and the killing of four students at Kent State Unviersity. All 250 were released on bond. City Atty. Jay Honohan refused to discuss this morning's meeting except to report that it was held "to discuss the trials with the judge and the defense lawyers." Judge Thornton's office reported he had left for Davenport after the meeting and could not be reached for comment. Also attending the meeting were defense lawyers William Sueppel and J. Newman Toomey, Jerry Weidler, a second-year law student working with Mause on the cases, and Dennis Clark, who is assisting Honohan. Another defense attorney, Joseph Johnston, was in District Court this morning and unable to attend the meeting.
