In all cases, the investigator must pay the actual cost of retrieving the information and, if the information is not obtained from the computer file, conditions may be imposed to safeguard the confidentiality of records. Investigators may be required to have the information retrieved by a member of the Office of Admissions and Records staff on a time available or overtime basis. 5. Student Access to Own Records. A student may view all information in his record in the possession of the Dean of Admissions and Records, except letters or memoranda solicited by the University with the understanding that disclosure of such letters or memoranda will not be made to the student. 6. University of Iowa Student Association Access. Mailings to students' home addresses or addresses of their parents will be made for the University of Iowa Student Association (at its expense) upon the written request of the Director of Student Development, acting on the recommendation of the President of the University of Iowa Student Association to comply with the terms of resolutions legitimately passed by the University of Iowa Student Association Senate. Student organizations may not have access to confidential records. 7. Access Directed by Board of Regents.In accordance with Board of Regents policy, information concerning students who have been suspended or expelled or who are otherwise ineligible for admission or re-registration for disciplinary reasons must be provided to appropriate administrative officials at Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa.
