3 its expense) upon the written request of the Director of Student Development acting on the recommendation of the President of the University of Iowa Student Association to comply with the terms of resolutions legitimately passed by the University of Iowa Student Association Senate. Student organizations may not have access to confidential records. 6. Access Directed by Board of Regents. In accordance with Board of Regents policy, information concerning students who have been suspended or expelled or who are otherwise ineligible for admission or re-registration for disciplinary reasons must be provided to appropriate administrative officials at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa Northern Iowa. 7. Public Information. Unless a student objects the University ,may from time to time release positive information about him, such as information about scholarships and honors. A notice to be published in each year's Schedule of Courses will inform students that they may forbid release of information about themselves for this purpose by written notification to the Dean of Admissions. 8. Emergencies. Exceptions to this policy may be made when, in the judgment of the official involved, failure to release such information as a student's home address or the names of his parents would result in severe or irreparable harm to the student Before releasing the information, however, the official involved should attempt to verify the existence of the emergency if the student's wishes in the matter can be ascertained, they must be followed.
