14. Joint meeting of Human Rights and Diversity Charter Committees to explore overlap in interests and efficient use of resources. 15. Participation in meetings concerning new UI cultural competency website. 16. Ongoing exploration of UI and IPERS investments as they relate to human rights violations in Darfur Issues of concern The Committee has stayed active in addressing issues involving University financial practices such as vendor contracts and investment policies as they affect human rights issues particularly throughout international communities. These have become ongoing concerns that will continue to merit monitoring. The charge to the Committee will need updating. Exploration of recommendations for updates will continue in the 2009-2010 Committee meetings. Recommendations, if any, to the Faculty Senate Please consider resuming Orientation for Charter Committees Training that was held in August 07 We again encourage the Senate to define committee expectations (including attendance) to interested faculty members. Expectations vary greatly across charter committees. This is a committee which has traditionally met monthly and also involves subcommittee work. Faculty on sabbatical out of the US may not be the best representatives of the Faculty Senate.
