THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA

Human Rights Policy, so this change would make the University policy consistent with the City of Iowa City. It is also timely to add gender identity to our policy before problems arise, as our population of transgendered staff and faculty grows. We wish to be proactive in extending protection rather than wait for incidents to occur, as they did in the City of Iowa City.
