44 1ST SPECTATOR "BITCHING" MALCOM X "Quiet, (louder) QUIET, (pleading) Quiet, that was sent to me by a fanatic. It was before my pilgrimage---when I was blind---when the oneness of man and the cataclysmic effect of non-oneness had polluted my mind." EBEN X (manly) "Grand, come here..... (calmly, maturally) Somewhere it is written that the son is the father of the man." MALCOM X "You can't understand that quotation---it's beyond your years. You are mouthing, mouthings." EBEN X "I don't care, I am already chosen, I just want to be beautiful." MALCOM X "Then be beautiful, go shake Mr. Lincoln's hand and tell him you trust him." EBEN X (boyish, near tears) "But I don't trust him."
