Elections are conducted in March. The president and vice-president are elected as a combined ticket. Five senators are elected at large, the rest as representatives of housing units, specific campus areas, and the Colleges . Generally, candidates are nominated by campus political parties, although this is not a prerequisite for seeking office. 10
