F. While the University requires that chaperons attend a function, the final responsibility for the conduct of each person rests with the group itself. It is the duty of the Social Chairman, the President, and other officers of the group to bring this responsibility to the attention of all individuals who attend the function. V. Intoxicating Beverages. No beer, wine, or other intoxicating beverages may be served at any student functions. Violations of this rule may be cause for suspension of the social privileges of the offending organization, or for the suspension of its chapter. VI. Times for Parties. Except for afternoon dances sponsored by the Student Union Board, dancing parties may be given only on Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings or on a weekday night preceding a holiday, such as Memorial Day. Exchanges and similar functions may be held on week nights in student residences providing such functions are concluded by 8:00 p.m. VII. Closing Time for Parties. All student parties must close not later than 12:30 a.m. VIII. Parties During Final Examinations. During the final examination period of each semester no social activities may be scheduled, except as authorized by the Subcommittee on Social Policy and Calendar of the Committee on Student Life. IX. Closed Parties. Dancing parties other than All-University parties shall be known as closed parties, and tickets shall be issued or sold only to members of the organization sponsoring the party. X. All-University Parties. The All-University party schedule shall be prepared annually by the Subcommittee on Social Policy and Calendar of the Committee on Student Life and posted on the calendar of events in the President's office and on the Student Activities Calendar in the Office of Student Affairs. Student parties may not be scheduled in conflict with All-University parties except at Homecoming. See Chapter VIII for regulations governing these parties. Chapter III-Housing Regulations I. General Regulations. All single undergraduate students under age 21 are required to reside in quarters approved by the University. Students who have reached the age of 21 prior to or at the time of registration for a session are not subject to this requirement. No exceptions will be made. II. Approved Quarters A. General approval is given to the living quarters of the following undergraduate students of theUniversity: 1. Those residing with parents. (Permission must be obtained from the Office of Student Affairs for students to reside with close relatives.) [5]
