X. Approval of Entertainment and Lecture Programs. Recognized student organizations are permitted to arrange lecture and entertainment programs for which general admission is charged so long as the following conditions are met: 1. All plans are approved by the Office of Student Affairs at least one week prior to the proposed event. Requests for approval must be submitted in writing before arrangements are made. The request is to be signed by the President and Facuty Adviser of the organization sponsoring the event. 2. All financial arrangements msut be cleared through the Auditor of Student Organization Accounts in the Business Office. 3. The student organization sponsoring the program must have a balance in its treasury which will cover the cost of the program, including building rental, advertising, and any other expenses, before any contracts or expenditures are made. If an individual, private group, or institution agrees to underwrite the expenses of the program, funds necessary must be deposited in the student organization's treasury with the agreement that any profit will accrue to the student organization account. The underwriter cannot be repaid until all bills and expenses incurred in the program are paid. It must be agreed that the program will not involve any advertising or publicizing of a commerical product or name. 4. In scheduling a program, the student organization must observe the no-conflict rule, including no conflict with programs of the University Lecture and Concert Series. XI. Approval of Speakers and Special Meetings. Any student organization planning to hold a meeting at which a lecturer or discussion leader from off-campus or a master of ceremonies or entertainers (student or non-student) will be invited to appear must have such plans approved by the Office of Student Affairs before making arrangements with the individuals concerned. The request for approval must be signed by the president of the organization and the faculty adviser and should be filed at least five days prior to the proposed event. XII. Reserving Rooms for Student Organization Meetings and Programs A. Recognized student organizations can request room reservations, provided the request is made one week in advance and that requests for reservations for meetings involving off-campus speakers or entertainers and programs for which admission will be charged are approved by the Office of Student Affairs.
