Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of October 14, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill this week is not satisfactory although not bad, simply mediocre. I question its drawing powers. Ruby Raymond & Co. Miss Raymond makes a very attractive appearance, is assisted by two young men who do wooden shoe dancing very well. She introduces her acrobatic dance during the specialty, the whole making a very pleasing offering. I am obliged to give this position on the bill because Miss Raymond changed the character of the act and as it stands at present it would conflict with Ryan & White who were already booked. The Ruby Raymond act is worthy of a much better place on the bill. 12 min. in One, 3 Shows. Clara Adams. Coon songs, all right for an early spot in the 3-a-day section, at the price paid. 10 min. in One, 3 Shows. Senecal. Foot juggler. Fair act of its kind, really should open the show. 8 Min. in 3, 3 Shows. Willie Weston. This young man made good thoroughly yesterday and could go in the early 2-a-day section. 13 Min. in One, 3 Shows. Owley & Randall. Comedy juggling act always goes well in an unimportant place. 10 Min. Full Stage, 3 Shows. Ryan & White. We have had no better dancing act on our stage than these two boys here. They make a very attractive appearance and do some wonderfully clever dancing. Could go down in the middle of any vaudeville show in the world. 10 Min. in One, 3 Shows. Irving Jones. Mr. Jones fell down with a very hard bump because he is giving us the same material that he did last year, in its entirety, which is also the same that he gave us the year previous, consequently he is of no value to us whatever. 10 Min. in One, 2 Shows. He did not do as well for us as some of the 3-a-day colored acts that we have had. Watson & Little. These people do a very nice turn, the feature being Mr. Watson's yodling. Personally, I believe the act would be better if they arranged a series of songs in One. The sketch does not amount to a great deal, but as a whole gives satisfaction in a mild way. 19 Min. Full stage, 2 Shows. Stella Mayhew. On account of Miss Mayhew's previous success here in "Coming Thro The Pye" she has great value for us and she is an exceptionally clever woman as well, but even as salaries go now days, I think she is twice paid. My show was dreadfully handicapped by her sketch not making good as expected, leaving me in a hole for a really good full stage act in the big part of the show. However, she went very well indeed altho I am not crazy to play her again at the same price. 13 Min. in One, 2 Shows. Alf Grant & Ethel Hoag. Who gave us some new material and some that they repeated from last year and who were not the great success that they have previously been in this house. However, they got by fairly well. 31 Min. in One, 2 Shows.
